The key part of CPR is chest compressions: Normally with each heartbeat, the heart sends blood throughout our bodies, carrying oxygen to every cell.But: when there’s a cardiac arrest, the Heart don’t pump anymore. We have to push from outside, so that the heart is „pumping“, which keep blood flowing to vital organs. Giving breaths of oxygen brings more oxygen into the person with cardiac arrest.
